David Shiner began as a street clown in Paris and soon found himself starring in Europe's most prestigious circuses, such as Germany's Roncalli and the Swiss National Circus Knie. He is a resident of Munich since 1985 and he has created and directed numerous productions in Berlin and Munich.
In 1990, Mr. Shiner co-directed and co-wrote his first show with Cirque du Soleil, Nouvelle Experience.
Cirque Founder Guy La Liberte calls David Shiner "one of the original creators of Cirque."
In 1993, Mr. Shiner co-created the hit Broadway show Fool Moon with fellow Clown Bill Irwin. Fool Moon garnered three theatrical awards: the Outer Critics Circle Award, Drama Desk Award, and the prestigious "Tony." Other Broadway credits include, Seussical The Musical in which he starred and created the role of "The Cat In The Hat."
In 2007, David Shiner wrote and directed Kooza, Cirque du Soleil's hit Big Top touring show.
Mr. Shiner had made several appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and The Jay Leno Show, as well as appearances in film and television.
David Shiner is presently working on several film projects as writer and director.
