David Hopkins is a thought leader for the millennial generation. He empowers business leaders to achieve success in a world motivated by empathy, compassion and conscious decision making. As a for-benefit strategist, author, and speaker, David has been fortunate to cultivate an engaged network of investors, social entrepreneurs and thought-leaders who are seeking new ways to create wealth and affect change in the world to advance humanity. He facilitates values-based collaboration between individuals and corporations at the intersection of for-purpose business, conscious investing, and spiritual development.

Previously, David served as the founding Membership and Campaign Director of GameChangers 500. Similar to how Fortune 500 ranks organizations on revenue, the GC500 list ranks the top 500 For-Benefit companies, such as Patagonia, Tesla, Whole Foods, and IDEO, based on their ability to make a profound positive impact using business as a force for good.

David Hopkins is co-author of the The Tactics of Hope: How Social Entrepreneurs Are Changing Our World (foreword by Archbishop Desmond Tutu), which has become a widely acclaimed book for individuals who want to live a more meaningful life “doing well” for themselves while “doing good” for the world. The Tactics of Hope has been used by professors for coursework in over 30 business schools around the world.

At ReTargeter, a digital advertising agency, he launched the Arts & Entertainment industry vertical, developing online advertising solutions for clients and partners in Hollywood, professional sports, and music industries, including the NFL’s Oakland Raiders, the Atlas Shrugged II film, and Warner Bros Records.

David has spoken at venues ranging from universities, think tanks, book stores, conferences, summits, workshops, board meetings, and teleseminars across the US. He has appeared online and on TV and radio. He speaks on themes like sustainability, social innovation and entrepreneurship, business and corporate social responsibility, the importance of leadership from the millennial generation and how to make a greater impact in the world as a conscious gamechanger in business. David has also co-delivered speeches and presentations with many well-known leaders, innovators and social entrepreneurs including Van Jones (The Green Collar Economy and CNN Political Contributor), Lynne Twist (highly acclaimed speaker, author of The Soul of Money: Reclaiming the Wealth of Our Inner Resources, and co-founder of The Pachamama Alliance), and Matt Flannery (co-founder of Kiva).

Mr. Hopkins has received numerous grants for his work, including recognition as a Balfour Foundation Fellow, PopTech National Geographic Conference Fellow, and Cordes Foundation Fellow at the Opportunity Collaboration conference on poverty alleviation conference. David was one of the first featured blog writers for the Skoll Foundation’s SocialEdge network “by and for social entrepreneurs”.

As an undergraduate of Middlebury College, David wrote his thesis initiating a student-led program in Social Entrepreneurship which, in turn, helped inspire the Middlebury Center for Social Entrepreneurship, one of the first social entrepreneurship centers at a liberal arts college in the United States.

David Hopkin’s explorations have shaped his view of the world as a conscious global citizen, with experiences as diverse as living with families in four foreign countries, climbing Mount Olympus in Greece, practicing meditation and mindfulness at an ashram in India, attending the World Cup in Brazil, constructing a new home for a family in rural Mexico, learning from indigenous leaders on the big island of Hawaii, and volunteering to teach HIV/AIDS awareness in Tanzania.
