Communications | Customer Service | Sales Dave Chalk is an entrepreneur, technology guru, television personality, syndicated columnist, sought-after public speaker and the founder of Chalk. Mr. Chalk's involvement with technology began back in the early days of computing when the sale of his Apple II computer fuelled his first business venture. With the $1000 proceeds he received from the sale, he started a retail store in his parents' basement. This company was the beginning of Doppler Computer Superstores, which quickly became a business with sales in the tens of millions of dollars. Dave Chalk's commitment to education is rooted in his life experience with an extreme form of dyslexia. His appreciation for taking the user experience into account, and creating an empowering and motivating learning experience, is the catalyst behind Chalk. Today, Mr. Chalk is known throughout North America as a leading public expert on technology; hosting his own TV show (Dave Chalk Connected In-Flight, on Air Canada), writing regular articles for several publications (including The Globe & Mail and Canada.com) and speaking for companies such as Microsoft, TELUS, HP and Sony. On June 9th, 2006, Dave Chalk was awarded an honorary Doctor of Technology degree.
