Biography

Tim Border's background in training and development has laid the foundation for high impact learning and the ability to maximize human performance. shows participants how to gain control of their lives. Tim Border knows the journey in life is not always easy. Growing up fast in Chicago, Illinois, Tim struggled to survive socially and educationally. In 1980 at the age of 18, he spent over a year of his life in a youth program. In this youth program, Tim earned a scholarship to Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. He earned a bachelor's degree in Communication and Business, and also earned a masters degree in Training and Development at the Utah State University, where he ranked scholastically in the top 3% of college students throughout the nation.

Tim Border's first professional speech was in 1986 for Job Corp. He entered into graduate school, receiving his degree in training and development. He then started Self Management Systems in 1987.

Ironically, Tim Border now teaches at the same university that he attended after he completed his youth program. He started teaching in 1992, and although his schedule has become too busy too accommodate a full-time teaching schedule, Tim continues to teach one upper division course each semester.
