Biography

With sophisticated illusions and exuberant comedy, Patrick Martin adds magic to any event. He entertains at business meetings, conventions, and in theater, art and music festivals throughout the world. He has appeared on television specials in Europe, Japan, and in the United States and on the Discovery Channel's The Art of Magic. He has consulted and created special effects for films, television commercials, and sporting events, including the Olympic games, NFL half-time shows, and a tribute to Muhammad Ali.

At an International Symposium of Magic held at Hollywood's renowned Coconut Grove, Mr. Martin made history by winning two Grand Prix Awards for excellence in both stage and close up magic, an honor never before or since repeated.

Selected for the universal quality of his magic and humor, Patrick Martin entertained the world's athletes at the Summer Olympic Games since 1984. He has entertained at private parties for Jack Nicholson, Elton John, Clint Eastwood, and President Clinton.

In the days when the Berlin Wall solidly divided East from West, Mr. Martin magically passed through the Iron Curtain. After a visa mix-up trapped him in East Germany and a deck of cards was found on him, he was suspected of being a gambler. "Gambler?" responded Patrick, "I am a magician!" With that, he made the cards vanish and produced them from the sleeve of a startled commanding officer. The stern border guards broke out in laughter and he was set free.

A graduate of the University of Santa Clara, he worked his way through college by teaching magic to corporate executives. His showmanship caught the attention of the directors of Club Med, and Patrick Martin was hired to perform and teach sleight of hand in exotic Caribbean resorts.

Mr. Martin has performed at large sales conventions and executive gatherings for the world's leading corporations. His clients include Microsoft, Levi Strauss, Merrill Lynch, and General Motors. By meticulously researching any organization, he tailors unique presentations enhanced with topical humor and visual surprise.
