Biography

Tom Koulopoulos provides a tour-de-force combination of energy, deep knowledge, business insight and humor in a keynote package tailored for each audience. His passion for helping business people understand the implications, challenges and opportunities of leading edge technology is evident in his writing, which Tom Peters has called, "a brilliant vision of where we must take our enterprises to survive and thrive."

Mr. Koulopoulos weaves a rich tapestry of story telling and technology vision for audiences. He explodes on stage with incredible intimacy both with his topics and his audience. It is the sort of insight that management guru Peter Drucker said, "makes you question not only the way you run your business but the way you run yourself."

Drawing on material from seven books, first hand experience in the trenches with major organizations, and solid business and technology background, Tom Koulopoulos' presentations will do more than motivate and entertain, they will fundamentally change the way you look at the role of technology in your organization and in your life. He has just released a new e-book titled Living in The Cloud that is an insightful and compelling look at how The Cloud will change nearly everything--from how we work to how we play. His last book, Smartsourcing: How to Drive Innovation, Jobs, and Growth in the Age of Globalization, looks at the core drivers and broad implications of outsourcing and globalization. In March of 2009, he released a breakthrough book, The Innovation Zone (Davies&Black). The Innovation Zone is an insider's view of how a company can make innovation happen in tough times like these. Covering dozens of case studies, from NASA and the spacesuit, to Apple and Sony, 3M and OnStar, ZipCar and iRobot, he looks at some of the greatest successes and failures of innovation and provides seven lessons that every company must follow to innovate through the tough times ahead.

Mr. Koulopoulos is president and founder of Delphi Group, a Boston-based thought leadership firm providing advice on leading edge technologies to global 2000 organizations and government for the past 15 years. He is also the Executive Director of the Babson College Center for Business Innovation where he will be building a center of gravity and a global initiative to drive business innovation research and thought leadership. From 2004-2007 he was Director of the Perot Systems Innovation Lab.

Tom Koulopoulos has also been an adjunct professor at the Boston College Wallace E. Carroll Graduate School of Management and a guest lecturer at the Boston University School of Management and Harvard University.

Mr. Koulopoulos' philanthropic interests include being a founding advisor to the non-profit Tech Foundation, which makes technology accessible to the non-profit sector in an attempt to bridge the widening digital divide and an advisor to the non-profit program Destination Imagination, which teaches creative problem solving and innovation to children in K-12 in more than 50 countries.
