Duane Knapp has served on dozens of boards of directors, including Federated Western Properties, Inc. and Longs Drug Stores, and has held a variety of senior executive positions, including Westin Hotels (Westin Enterprises and Discoveries retail stores and catalogs), Holiday Corporation, and The Promus Companies. Duane Knapp advises leading law firms relating to high profile brand and intellectual property matters and is an expert in the fields of travel and hospitality, food and beverage products, restaurants, retailing, health care, financial services and real estate development. Both the New Jersey and Las Vegas Gaming Authorities have approved him as a Senior Gaming Officer.

Duane Knapp has taught and lectured at several universities and graduate schools throughout the U.S., including Vanderbilt, Stanford, the University of California, the University of Colorado at Boulder and Seattle University. Duane Knapp is a frequent keynote speaker on the subject of branding. He has been published in, or quoted or featured in publications such as BusinessWeek, Brandweek, CFO Magazine, Association Management, Marketing, Washington CEO, Bankers Magazine, Design Forum, Focus, Risk Management, Forbes, Travel, Distribution Reports, Private Clubs Magazine, International Journal of Medical Marketing, The Seattle Times, and The Journal of Commerce.
