William Davidson, Ph.D. is chairman of Management Education Services Associates (MESA), a research and consulting organization specializing in business planning and leadership development. MESA has worked with over half the Fortune 100 companies in strategic planning and leadership development.
In 1996-98, Dr. Davidson served as a national partner with Deloitte & Touche with leadership responsibility for its telecommunications and media consulting practice. During this period, the practice grew from $13 million to $120 million in revenue. He is also the chairman of two venture capital funds, and serves on the boards of several venture companies. He focuses on emerging opportunities in the extended telecom sector.
Formerly tenured professor of management at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, Dr. Davidson is an active researcher and writer. His book, Breakthrough: How Great Companies Set Outrageous Objectives and Achieve Them, details how incumbents innovate to achieve enduring market leadership. He was recognized as the most widely cited academic in the field of international management during the decade 1985-95, and his books include 2020 Vision, co-authored with Stan Davis. 2020 Vision was selected as Best Business Book of the Year by Fortune Magazine in 1992. Bill Davidson was awarded the AIB Award for the best doctoral dissertation in 1980.
William Davidson devotes all of his time to consulting work. He focuses on assisting senior management in developing transformation strategies and management structures for growth and value creation. He earned his B.A. in Economics,and his M.B.A. and doctorate in Business Administration from Harvard University.
