Biography
Jennifer Aaker, Ph.D., is the General Atlantic Professor of Marketing at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University. Her area of expertise lies in the psychology of time, money, and happiness.
Professor Aaker also works on (a) psychology of giving, (b) global brand building, and (c) the role of emotions in health. Her research has been published in both marketing and psychology journals, and has been featured in various media outlets such as Business Week, CNN, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, National Public Radio, and Cosmopolitan.
Professor Aaker serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Consumer Psychology and the Journal of Marketing Research, and is currently the Associate Editor at the Journal of Consumer Research. Her work on the psychology of relationships won the best Journal of Consumer Research article, and her work on culture and personality has won awards that are given for papers which demonstrates the most potential to contribute significantly to marketing management.
Professor Aaker received the Distinguished Teaching Award, Citibank Best Teacher Award, and George Robbins Best Teacher award at both Stanford University and UCLA. She works with organizations such as Google, Disney, NFL, Microsoft, GM, P&G, People, and Levi-Strauss.
Professor Aaker received her B.A. in Psychology from University of California at Berkeley and her Ph.D.’s in Marketing and Psychology from Stanford University.
