Keynote Provides Top Speakers for 2009 MPI NCC Trade Show
Keynote Speakers, Inc. Events Director Kathleen Mozena provided three excellent speakers for the morning learning sessions for the Meeting Professionals International Northern California Chapter's (MPINCC) 21st annual trade show, "Connections Through Collaboration", in San Francisco. Kathleen and Keynote Speakers, Inc. president Katrina Smith also staffed a Trade Show booth, where the speakers, Garrison Wynn, Lynn Jimenez and Pierre Khawand greeted the attendees, signed books, and talked about future programs.
Keynote agent Kathleen Mozena is a very active member of the local chapter of MPI in Northern California. Not only is Kathleen a CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) but she was also recently named a "Power Player"¯ for her work on the Community Involvement Committee, was a candidate for Meeting Professional of the Quarter, and serves on the Awards/Auction Committee.
Garrison Wynn, of Wynn Solutions, helped attendees explore why younger and older people don't always see eye to eye, and what to do about it in the workplace, in his program "Blending Excellence: Generations Working Better Together." From pointers on motivating, managing, and retaining younger employees, to ways of preventing the veterans in the workplace from losing their minds, this program showed how boomer, Gen X, and Gen Y employees can work together. The research for this course was done with thousands of top managers and workers of all ages. Garrison also speaks on a variety of popular business topics including Making the Most of Difficult Situations and How to Win an Unfair Fight--What the Top 1% Do Differently and Why They Won't Tell You.
Lynn Jimenez is a business reporter on KGO radio and the author of a recent bilingual book on personal financial planning. Her program, "Your Economy/Your Money: What Now?" was extremely well attended, since so many of us today are wondering how to change our personal financial strategy to fit the new economic situation. After an overview of the current US economy, Lynn talked about ways to keep your head above water and build for the future during these challenging times. Attendees left the session with knowledge that would help them manage their own money on the road to financial independence.
Pierre Khawand, founder of People-OntheGo, spoke on "Productivity in the Digital Age: Five Principles to Get You There"¯. In today's digital age, information is coming our way from many fronts. Keeping track of information and leveraging it becomes very challenging. Productivity expert Pierre walked attendees through some key principles that can help individuals, teams, and organizations overcome the challenges of information overload. Specific tips included techniques relating to popular email applications, blogs, wikis, and SharePoint.
Keynote Speakers, Inc. has provided speakers and been an event sponsor for the Northern California chapter of MPI and for the national/international MPI conventions and trade shows. Making connections with others in the meeting planning industry, both locally and globally, is a great way to support the industry as a whole and to stay current on industry trends and standards.
|“Thank you again[Maria Murnane] for…sharing your story with us! I greatly enjoyed your talk and I was actually inspired by it to the point where I quit my job yesterday! I have been doing advertising sales at my campus newspaper for a year and I have absolutely hated it...After listening to you, however, I decided that I needed to just do it and trust that I'll be able to find something better."|
